Christian Life Coaching

Have you ever wondered if you are living God’s purpose? Are you stuck and confused on what the next step in your life should be? Are you lost and looking for a new direction within your faith?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then I’m glad you made it this far. As a Christian Life Coach, I want to help you examine particular areas of your life that are not satisfying to you, and help you realign yourself to God’s purpose.

What is God’s Purpose?

“At the most fundamental level, our life purpose is to become like Christ.” – Tony Stoltzfus

For many of us, discovering what God has in mind for us is unclear. But the truth is, God has already been speaking to you about your role, but sometimes we don’t hear Him to well when we get lost or confused on our journey through life.

The interesting thing to realize is that God constantly shapes us through all our experiences, which may, or may not always pleasant. And it is through the combination of all we experience that we gain the skills to live His purpose.

You can understand God’s purpose like this:

God’s Purpose = Personal Design + Life Experience + Energy of Interest x Calling.

From utilizing our life design and acquired skills, we can learn to be more like Christ. So, taking the above formula for example, we can figure out what He wants us to do:

Personal Design: What is it that makes you, you? What are you strengths, your personality type, your talents, and abilities?

Energy of Interest: What motivates you to do and be better? What are you passionate about that you want to purse?

Life Experience: What have you learned through your life that has shaped you? What credentials do you have? What lessons have you learned? What assets (not just financial) have you acquired?

Calling: Are you ready and willing to serve others like Christ?

Why Would Life Coaching Help Me?

Although God is ready to reveal our purpose to us, sometimes we are too busy with our day-to-day functioning that we often don’t have time to be open to that which God knows is best for us. Essentially, if we look inward without God’s direction, then we are expecting ourselves to be the lighthouse and the ship. And that we cannot be.

If we only focus on our self, and not look outward to His external call — to be more like Jesus — then we don’t always get to know what living this purposeful life is. A life which is woven into the design of who we are.

This is where coaching can help. Having an external person ask you questions. Push you to unpack who you are, and what you are good at, can make all the difference to seeing what it is you are meant to do.

But How Does Living My life For Jesus Help Me Be Happy?

Think about living a purposeful life like this. Imagine it is Christmas or a birthday with somebody you love. Do you not feel more joy giving them a gift, rather than receiving your own? Do you not gain more joy by creating a special experience for those you love?

God designed you to help others. He knows what this is like because he sent His only son to serve, not to be served. We know when our heart is full, and it isn’t when we get a pay rise or a new car. It is when those we love look at us and say: “thank you.”

If we understand how our personal design, life experience, and energy of Interest combine, then we will are free to see the light at the end of the tunnel. To not only be closer to God, but to live our purposeful life, everyday, with joy.

Giving is Better than Receiving

John 15:1-4 said it best:

“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you.”

When we trust in God and live our purpose, He will reward us beyond our imagination. For every step we take towards God, we will grow in abundance. For every step away from Him, we wither.

This is Your Unique Journey

There is no ‘one-size-fits-all’ when it comes to life purpose. This is your unique journey that only you can discover with time, prayer, thought, and reflection. But this discovery need not be overly complicated. And changing aspects of your life need not be complicated.

Sometimes a life change is more about getting started in the right direction and having a simple goal, rather than trying to understand every single aspect of yourself before making a start.

In fact, many people find the right path to God’s purpose after a few sessions. My task, as your coach, is to help you identify your gifts and natural abilities. I can walk beside you as you unpack your history and experiences, while motivating you to keep moving forward.

If you have got this far, I hope you will stop struggling with your purpose, and trust that God has lead you here for a reason.
